Fellowship-trained sports medicine and shoulder surgeon — dedicated to getting athletes and active patients back to the sport and life they love.
Dr. William McLaughlin is a fellowship-trained sports medicine and shoulder surgeon specializing in complex and minimally invasive surgical interventions — treating athletic injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot, and ankle, as well as hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement.
A former NCAA ice hockey player and All-Academic athlete himself, Dr. McLaughlin understands firsthand what it means to compete — and what it means to recover. He completed his residency at Yale University (Chief Resident) and fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Assistant Team Physician for the St. Louis Blues, St. Louis CITY SC, and the St. Louis Battlehawks.
Dr. McLaughlin's mission is to return patients to the active lifestyles they lived before their injury, using minimally invasive approaches at the forefront of sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery.
From ACL reconstruction to cartilage restoration — comprehensive care for all knee injuries in athletes and active patients.
From rotator cuff repair to total shoulder replacement — restoring strength and motion for every patient.
Specialized treatment for hip conditions affecting athletes and active patients, from FAI to hip replacement.
Expert sports medicine care for upper and lower extremity injuries common in athletes of all levels.
Dr. McLaughlin played NCAA ice hockey before attending medical school — meaning he truly understands the mindset of an athlete facing injury. That perspective shapes everything about how he cares for his patients.
Meet Dr. McLaughlin"Most people think of injuries as setbacks. I believe these are opportunities to turn adversity into an advantage — and I will guide you so that you come off an injury better than when you went down."
